UW Oshkosh Wins District 8 National Student Advertising Competition
OSHKOSH— A 19-member cross-college team from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh won the District 8 National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC) in St. Paul, Minnesota on April 19, 2008. The first-place finish qualifies the team to compete at the national competition in Atlanta on June 8-9, 2008.
UW Oshkosh placed first among 10 schools competing from Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Canada. Second through fourth place were awarded to Marquette University, UW – Madison and Moorhead State, respectively.
The UW Oshkosh team is co-advised by Kathy Fredrickson and Dana Baumgart, instructors for the UW Oshkosh journalism department. Fredrickson and Baumgart co-teach Strategic Campaigns in Advertising, the course students take to participate in the competition.
